The Thirst Project
The Thirst Project is a non-profit organization in America which aims to bring safe drinking water to communities around the world. The thirst project all started with photography. People became aware of The Thirst Project by a photo. People realized water was a really big issue. The Thirst Project was made by eight college kids. They would travel to schools to spread the word about The Thirst Project. The Thirst Project are trying to build wells for kids who need clean water. The cost to build a well of freshwater well developing cost between $7,800-20,000 in Kenya and Uganda.
I can help The Thirst Project by raising whatever money I can get to help build wells in Kenya and Uganda. I raised two dollars by selling a two chocolates. When I became aware of kids not being able to access clean water, I immediately thought something should be done. Thats how most kids get illnesses in Kenya and Uganda. The dirty water has bacteria which can cause sickness. If you don't have access to clean water it can cause blindness and chlamydia.
I've never experienced or witnessed lack of water where I live. The average distance a woman walks to collect water is 3.75 miles. Girls don't have time for school because they have to collect water.Without an education, it is nearly impossible to break the cycle of poverty. If there was clean water in Kenya and Uganda, illnesses will be prevented and deaths.
